Tkachuk Viktor Vasylovych was born on 16 November 1958 in the village of Kuzmina Greblia, Khristinivskyi District, Cherkasy Region (in Cherkasy Oblast). He devoted his life to military service and has 33 years of military service. Today, he is a military pensioner and lives in the village of Myropil, Zhytomyr Region. While vacationing at a sanatorium in Truskavets, he attended a master class by an artist who inspired him to realise his dream of painting. Viktor Vasylovych is a self-taught artist who decided to convey his vision of nature, water bodies and the surrounding world on canvas using oil paints in the style of REALISM. While walking around his native village, he takes beautiful photos on his phone, which he later transfers to canvas. Some of his works are created visually — while vacationing at a sanatorium, looking out the window from the balcony of the house. Many works were painted at the artist’s workplace — the Agrarian Technological Company (the artist donates his salary to purchase drones and other necessities for Ukrainian defenders on the front lines). He teaches his passion and passes on his skills to his youngest grandson. In three years of his creative work, the artist has created more than 50 paintings, some of which he has donated: to the village library in his native village in Cherkasy region, to the sanatorium in Brovary, where he was undergoing treatment, and as a gift to his daughter.
Another hobby of the artist is ships. The sea is a childhood dream that he realised in ship modelling when, as a schoolboy, he organised a ship modelling club at school. During his lifetime, Viktor Vasylovych has visited the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. He observed river vessels on the Dnieper, Southern Bug, Danube, Neva, Moscow, Vistula, Ob, Yenisei, and Amur rivers.
