Nochsvetla Art

Pastel is my true love! It came into my life unexpectedly and not so long ago. In the summer of 2023, I finally bought those colourful little sticks. Before that, I mostly worked with gouache and watercolour, as I used to teach children how to paint. I worked in a private studio and dreamed of opening my own one day.
The war brought me to the welcoming shores of the UK, to the port city of Southampton. It reminded me so much of my hometown, Mykolaiv.
It was here in Southampton that my love story with pastels began. The moment I tried them, I fell in love with painting using my fingers. It felt so natural and free! I almost forgot how to use a brush.
Now, pastels have become my favourite way to create art, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
